What the department does
The Engineering Department builds and maintains the town's physical infrastructure and delivers refuse collection services.
Services offered
- Roads and storm-water
- Maintenance of council roads, pothole repairs, kerbs, drains and road markings.
- Water reticulation
- Repair of leaks and bursts on council mains. New connections are handled jointly with EWSC.
- Refuse removal
- Weekly kerbside collection for households, and scheduled commercial collection.
- Streetlights
- Repair and replacement of streetlights and high-mast lighting.
- Fault reporting
- Report faults online, by phone or at the Civic Offices. Each report receives a reference number.
How to apply or request a service
- Report a fault using the online form or call +268 2404 1130.
- For a wayleave or road-crossing permit, submit the application form with drawings to the Town Engineer.
