Citizen engagement
Council decisions affect every resident. The Urban Government Act, 1969 requires Council to meet in public, and the council actively seeks residents' views on the Integrated Development Plan, the budget and major projects.
Attending council meetings
- Ordinary council meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of each month at 10:00 in the Council Chamber, Civic Offices.
- The agenda is displayed on the notice board at the Civic Offices and published on this website three working days before the meeting.
- Members of the public may observe proceedings. To address Council on a specific item, submit a written request to the Chief Executive Officer at least five working days before the meeting.
