E 12 million water infrastructure upgrade completed

A new 2 megalitre reservoir improves supply pressure to the eastern suburbs.
The new 2 megalitre reservoir on Phophonyane Hill was commissioned on 20 July 2026, completing a two-year upgrade funded jointly by the council and the Government of Eswatini.
Residents in Wards 4 and 5 should notice improved water pressure, particularly during morning peak hours.
The project also replaced 3.2 km of asbestos-cement pipe with modern uPVC mains.
